Puyallup, Washington is a city in Pierce County, about five miles east of Tacoma. Puyallup, is both more rural and more modern than the city of Tacoma. Puyallup was formerly out in the country, but in the last decade Puyallup has become a popular place for active duty military personal assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord as well as locals to buy a home. Puyallup has grown to be one of the primary areas of housing developments in this part of Washington.
With so many buying homes in this area, Puyallup has become well-equipped for residents who need to head out to buy groceries, grab a bit to eat, or go shopping., you will never want for a box store here. South Hill Mall is located close to 512 near the intersection of the main thoroughfare of Meridian and 112th. The mall itself has many stores, but the area surrounding it also has many stores and restaurants.
One of the top draws is the Puyallup Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds are most known for hosting the Puyallup Fair in September each year, but are busy with events year round, including the Puyallup Spring Fair, a Fourth of July event and fireworks, car shows, Oktoberfest, and Victorian Country Christmas.
